To Everyone Except For my Mom

"To Everyone Except my Mom" is a series that contains letters between my mom and me, snapshot images, archival images, color positive films, and portraits of myself, combined together in an evidence box. It's a lot of people's greatest fear to become their own mother and that same fear applies to me. In my attempt to try to understand this fear I'm using the process of photography to untangle and grasp this complicated relationship. This body of work is about memory, connection, and grief. Both grief of our lost connection, and grief of my childhood that I wish I had.
